SONOGRAPHERS Medical Specialist Recruitment requires an experienced Band 7 Speech and Lang Therapist to work in Ilford.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Independently manage a caseload of children with social communication disorders, with a developing specialism in pre and post diagnostic ASD in various settings. Provide high quality speech and language therapy in close conjunction with families and other professionals working with the same client group and contribute to MDT support for clients with a range of social communication difficulties. Independently assess, manage and differentially diagnose a caseload of clients with social communication needs and develop evidence based treatment and management programmes to be implemented within the multi-disciplinary teams and the clients family. This includes clients without an Educational Health Care Plan. Devise and deliver appropriate specialist intervention/care plans/enhanced models of SLT for clients with complex communication needs and provide suitable and timely support. Provide feedback, advice and training to parents/family members, carers and members of the multidisciplinary team regarding communication needs and strategies to facilitate development.

SKILLS/ EXP REQUIRED: Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent, HCPC Licence to Practice, Show active interest in CPD in line with RCSLT guidelines, experience in NHS within children neurodevelopment service, knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders, experience in delivering pre and post diagnostic support to cares of children with ASD, Child development and its application to speech and language therapy,
